There is a very cute old man at my job who is constantly repeating the phrase "mucho bueno, " and if you don't say it back, he says "No bueno, no mucho bueno." He's a native Spanish speaker so idk where it came from, but I asked him one day why he says it all the time, and he says he just wants everyone to feel relaxed and not be tense. He's just checking on everyone. It's very sweet.

As a native speaker i can also say that we don't use "No es bueno" too often if there is not subject at the begining of the phrase.

Just saying "No good" doesn't make sense in English either though... You say "something IS not good" and is what you want to say for it to make sense, i.e. a complete sentence - which does translate into Spanish

better, but not perfect, we don't usually say just "no es bueno", it works just for determined objects like a book, a keyboard, or a material.
it depends on the context but it would be something like:

for a person bad at doing something: "no es muy bueno".
for bad food: "está feo/asqueroso", or "no está muy rico" to be less agresive.
for a bad show/movie: "no está muy bueno/a".

for something wrong: "no está bien"


but we usually use adjectives instead of "bueno" like "no es divertido", "no es lindo", no es buena persona" or "no es de buena calidad"
