My grandmother was an Airth, that castle was actually in my family in the distant past. There is a family crypt on the property. Looks pretty good as a hotel, I will have to visit.

Thanks again. I am now staying in Witham, Essex which is 20 minutes from the plant that made the Tiptree raspberry jam you ate this morning. Cheers

You two are always welcome to our small islands of Great Britain. Appreciative, interested and absorbing our culture. No whinging about rain or driving on the "wrong" side of the road and I for one am fascinated that you are prepared, even keen, to get off the beaten track and see what there is to see away from the tourist traps even in London. As the Scottish people say, "Haste ye back".
By the way, take a look at Steve & Jodi's channel on YouTube and their UK travels and I hope it gives some inspiration for your next visit.

I had Webbing reception in the Castle 🏰 in 27/12/2003. The webbing meal was very good food. Happy days 🎊🍾🎉

It's so sad to see the wreck that it is now. Abandoned and vandalised.

This was really interesting to me as I live like 2 minutes away from here in a little town called Kincardine which is next to the river forth. If you drove this way you'd have went across one of the two bridges just next to it. The industrial park you mention at 3.22 is at a place called Grangemouth just across the river from me and that has an oil refinery at it which is what you see. Right across from it is a power station called Longannet which has a really tall chimney that you may have seen it. It is closed now and the chimney will be getting knocked down next year some time. I have drove past the entrance to the Airth Castle Hotel literally hundreds of times on my way to Stirling (did you visit there?) but have never been in it before so this video was very interesting to me. £15 for a breakfast wow such a rip off. Anyway it looks beautiful so thanx for sharing. :)

You should see it now, it’s in ruins, almost completely destroyed.

We probably only ever have 1 or 2 days every year where it might get really hot and that's if your lucky! A lot of places in the U.K don't have air conditioning because they don't feel it's cost effective enough and especially in very old building as it can be quite expensive to install, I think it's because as they have very strict regulations on what you can and can't do to them😀

Was you not intrigued to try the traditional haggis or black pudding tami? I had a girlfriend for a while who lived in Glasgow and I was pleasantly surprised to find out I love the taste of haggis!!

My house is literally 10 min away from here as well and I’m planning on doing a paranormal investigation on this place cause from the haunting stories and my parents go married here and stayed and they said it’s haunted as hell . Beautiful place though .

It's the same in all UK hotels they charge the earth for food it's how they make their profit and a lot of business people use hotels so they "don't pay" it's charged to expenses. Just remember your the customer you can say "can we sit over there" you are allowed to!

I love creamy scramble egg I've found posh hotels serve them my husband hates them and I hate Cumberland sausage too not keen on the spices first thing in the morning and 15 pound is a terrible price for breakfast.
