The red colour "Ghost plant" Monotropa hypopitys,, is extremely rare, but I have found a lot of them.

Monotropa hypopitys, the so-called Dutchman's pipe, false beech-drops, pinesap, or yellow bird's-nest,

To clarify, these are not the same:
Ghost pipe is white with a single flower head and called Monotropa Uniflora.
Pinesap is red with multiple flower heads and called Monotropa Hypopitys.

Where are you at? I am in pa an we have tons of whites. Reds new to me. Good stuff.
