Outside of the saucy name 'ol Penny here is a formidable heavy like most 75 tonners in Battletech really. Honestly this weight class is probably the best all round in the game because of the mix of firepower, speed and armour. It also features numerous iconic designs so there is that as well.

I used to know a guy whose nickname was the Penetrator. Or at least he wanted to be called the Penetrator, since he thought it was better than his previous nickname. Didn't catch on, most of us kept calling him Head, owing his enormous noggin.

I wish I had one if I was in the universe! I’m all about durability and ruggedness! I love Archer Christoforri’s penetrator with clan large lasers; I listened to his story on YouTube in the audiobook “ BattleTech Measure of a Hero” ! I am always stumped about who to chose for a faction; FedSons Lyran Commonwealth or
Free Worlds League. There are always Heroes and Villains on both/all sides ; as a kid I always thought in Sci Fi and Fantasy there’s always good and evil side, but as I matured I learned it’s more complex and grey like the real world 🌎 IRL !

The TRO 3150 -7D variant that uses Endo Steel to mount an Actuator Enhancement System and Snub Nose PPCs in the arms isn’t bad, but it does mount Reflective Armor which given its slower speed can make it vulnerable to artillery

It really seems that story-wise heavy Mechs were the sweet spots that the inner sphere considered best to use against the clans.

Another mech with the Stable quirk (which seems to go with screwy leg designs lately), and the Good Reputation quirk that increases cost and resale value. It's a little tight on heat dissipation but not a bad brawler when you get into pulse laser range. Awfully light on long-range firepower for a 75 tonner although the AMS will bleed LRM salvos white, which helps with some of the damage being thrown back at you. Really let down by the idiotic decision to shove the ammo for the AMS in the CT location, where it will usually blow out your engine if it detonates. A good tech will move the whole damn system and ammo off to an arm or something first thing.

Great mech, maybe you could give it endo steel and a few more heat sinks . But is good as it is .

The second picture makes the legs seem functional. The first picture just confused me. The mental image of the legs extending to raise the head up is kind of cute. Just kind of peeking over a building.

Eeh, never knew this one. Pulse lasers especially mediums never seemed worth it to me. Better to pack to ER M lasers to 1 M pulse.
