Are you ready for the most characterful delay tone? There is a reason why Nels Cline LOVES this delay tone. Today we put the JHS Oil Can Delay from the 3 series through it's paces and unlock every tone imaginable. As this sits in the 3 series, it's part of the JHS budget line too so it won't break the bank. Massive thanks to JHS for sending this one through to demo. You forgot about Secret Mode🤘. I have the blackout version and owned it since it first dropped. It is hands down the best pedal purchase ever. It does so much and in Secret Mode, it adds an additional tape head. Now, you can scratch that cool, trippy echo delay of the late 80s or dip into ambient territory.

We're finishing up our first EP and our producer loved the weirdness of this tone that I had dialed in that we used it on one of the songs. It added a really cool, trippy vibe that's hard to explain but no other pedal or effect that I nor the studio had on board can duplicate it.

I love this pedal so much so, that I want a second one. This was even before JHS finally added it to the standard line up. I was one of the folks pestering them for months about it.

Great demo. I would 100% have to paint mine. If you end up painting yours, please let us see it.

I think the Tape Delay is more my brand of nostalgia, but this is great too. I plan to upgrade to JHS eventually. Right now I use a VSN/Rowin tape delay

I really appreciate that you use a dyslexia font.

The pedal is visually minimalist, which is fine, but I really like the sound. The price seems reasonable to me. Greetings, Pavel CZ.👍👍👍

That does an amazing impresion of a spring reverb. Ive still got an old amp with a spring type reverb. Amazing little Fx peddle that, some awesome sounds coming from it, remarkable achievement, I couldn't quite believe what I was hearing.

Back in the day, serving my apprenticeship in MOR bands (pubs, clubs, weddings), my older glorious leader (a benign dictator, encouraging guy) if he had been a bit twitchy with us youngsters (probably with good cause in hindsight - now Im older💜😉), we'd wait until his solo, than stamp our feet near to his amp, it would then do a great impression of a Huey Bell helicopter (Apocalypse Now stylee or perhaps Spinal Tap stylee)😀😀 Sometimes he'd see the funny side too😲👍💜💜😆😆

Good idea with the captions, Ive got some reading and writing challenges/conditions so I should imagine itll help tgose with dyslexia, dyspraxia et al too 👍👍💜💜

I still think too much text distracts from listening to the pedals
