This thriller from director David Cronenberg reteams him with his "A History of Violence" leading man Viggo Mortensen. The film follows the mysterious and ruthless Nikolai (Mortensen), who is tied to one of London's most notorious organized crime families. His carefully maintained existence is jarred when he crosses paths with Anna (Academy Award® nominee Naomi Watts), an innocent midwife trying to right a wrong, who accidentally uncovers potential evidence against the family. Now Nikolai must put into motion a harrowing chain of murder, deceit, and retribution.

Simply outstanding . As good as any crime film ever made. Hugely underrated by everyone apart from those that have seen it.

I hate trailers like these they show way to much and portrays the film like it’s an action thriller but in reality it’s so much greater then that.

One of the most brutal knife/hand-to-hand fight scenes I’ve ever seen on film. Not as long as the fight at the end of Raid 2, but just as, if not a bit more, horrifying and difficult to watch from start to finish.

I used to have this on DVD. Watched many times. Talented cast, good story. The ending was a bit of a let down. Otherwise a great film that shouldn't be forgotten
