Dropped out next semester and went with my side hustle which makes me more than the architect salary now... Still love buildings, architecture, space and form... But time is worth getting paid for

I've always been curious this because I have many architects living in my neighborhood on the west coast. It seems like they buy old houses, demolish them, and construct stunning new ones. I would have guess they make triple the amount you listed! Either way, I'm always inspired by their work, and a bit jealous I can't do the same.

I learnt how to code in one year and got a higher salary with 0years professional experience than 10years of college and professional architectural experience (registration exams included). Don't wait around expecting the industry to change, save yourself while you still can.

Currently studying architecture after pausing my civil engineering degree.
EU based so it is quite a bit different, but i was aware of the pay and what to expect. I don't plan to be a planning architect, but want to finish both my degrees and work as a construction site manager. For anyone looking to get into architecture, it is a fun but time demanding study and really interesting, be sure to inform yourself a lot and don't have high expectations that you can be extremely creative or become the next star architect!

I’m currently trying to hire an architect in Florida. The gentleman I was referred to says that he is not taking on any more work this year and that each job that he completes he doesn’t make less than 2500 from each. So there is a huge spectrum for pay

LOL it matters where you work and how hard - As a commercial interior designer in New Orleans ( cheap living) I made 140 K not including benefits - not bragging - yes bragging

Our profession has been degraded all over the world by us ! Only large offices and superstars make money. Public projects are often monopolized. While the others are mostly underpaid for tge service they provide. The reason being: we consider our job to be a religion! We accept hard conditions and lackluster revenue just to finish the project and have a chance of taking photos. We don't value our expertise enough, and when we hire other architects, we don't offer a part of the pei ! The last factor is that in many countries such as mine, quantity trumps quality.

I’m struggling because I’m doing finances at university, second year now and I started architecture drawing course now for exams for college and I’m thinking of starting architecture next year while finishing my finance degree. I mean I really like creating and drawing, computers, finances this year are getting more and more interesting and I don’t know if I should pay more money, prepare for exams because I need to write exam in my high school or I should get my degree and maybe do some interior design courses on the side or cs some programming. I don’t know what to do

If you find out how much more valley tech people get paid than you, why not target them with your products. They can certainly afford to pay you handsomely.
