When you see "locals" that are happy usually you're witnessing people with traditional culture and community; they're happy because they don't feel so isolated from their homes that becoming a digital nomad seems like the only option for finding belonging.

I don’t completely agree. You’d be surprised how much some people could benefit from a change of environment.

I agree! I have the luxury of being able to travel 320 days a year both for work and leisure… I am currently at an amazing beach destination and all I want to do is stay indoors, sleep, eat and browse the internet. At first travelling gave me that excitement but now everyplace is starting to look the same and no matter what, I can’t get away from myself. Inner peace and inner happiness is crucial and although an environment can uplift you for a bit, it’s only a matter of time until your inner turmoils and unhappiness catches up. So now I have decided to go back to my home country, stay put, search deep and once I am at peace with myself I will resume location independent work.

This doesnt mean becoming a nomad is wrong idea.

This is so true. Wherever you go, there you are! No location will magically make you happy, happiness has to start from within :)

I have my permanent home to travel and work from wherever when I want to. best of both worlds

Exactly, we must heal within because we take ourselves wherever we go

Lol totally disagree with you bud. I live in Fort Myers Florida which if you know anything about Southwest Florida it's all retirees. When I live in Colombia or Brazil I feel connected I can walk everywhere people are more friendly and open to friendships and being social. I am definitely not happy here where I am but just because of that it doesn't mean that I am not happy in other parts of the world

I hear what you’re saying, but I also want to add that living abroad and a nomadic lifestyle can be very transformative. It can make you happy if you allow yourself to change and learn from new people, places, challenges.if not your problems will follow you, if not you can shed your skin quite easily and transform your life with this change in lifestyle it’s very very good for you and you can go anywhere with a fresh sense and way of being, so therefore based on my experience moving abroad and living nomadically can absolutely make you happier. The key is to work on yourself which many people cannot do as easily back home with all of the pressure and weight that exists there for them.

I know this is true to some extent, but what does being a peace with yourself even mean. Sometimes environments need to changed

I use AI to help me travel all year, we move to a new country every month, and I have friends everywhere, so I never get lonely or bored.

Life is short and I dont want to be in the same place forever. If i can work remotely, id like to travel while i do it. See new places. Meet people from different psrts of the world

I've only been a DN for a little over a year. 5 countries so far. And this man is speaking the truth. I don't hate this lifestyle yet but it's definitely far more challenging than I ever imagined it would be.

It must be true that money can’t buy you happiness but I would think it could alleviate discomfort but then I guess it’s only on a financial level.

I hope you do find peace within yourself soon. 🙏🏾

Money, looks, traveling the world, etc. will not bring lasting happiness once the novelty wears off. If you are unhappy, nothing outside can compensate and fill the emptiness you feel inside!

I disagree with this. Example, my friend was very unhappy while living in Haiti. But soon as my friend got to Dallas, my friend became a far more happier person

That's brilliant
It's about what you want out of life
Like me, I don't want lots of money I just want my family and to be content

I just never know where to start with a business, my mind is blank I have no ideas that are actually useful and profitable. I want work to at least be fun for me.
