Born in Liverpool on 9 October 1940, John Winston Lennon or as he is known as John Lennon, was one of the most iconic members of the band 'Beatles'.
John Lennon was very close to his mother, Julia Lennon, until her mother was still alive; on the other hand, she has little relationship with her father, Alf.
For most of us, our parents are our first heroes and inspirations. John was also inspired by his mother. Julia Lennon taught John to play the banjo, which was the first instrument he learned. He and his mother both loved Elvis Presley's music. 'Fats Domino's Ain't That A Shame' was the first song John Lennon learned to play. Throughout his life, John Lennon had a passion for writing and singing. John Lennon wrote his first song 'Hello Little Girl' with Paul McCartney, who was one of the songwriters on The Beatles. In March 1957, John Lennon formed The Quarrymen and that same year he met Paul McCartney at a garden party at St Peter's Church in Woolton, Liverpool. And the rest is history.
