Advanced Opening Range Breakout Strategy. This is a little bit of an extra dimension to the traditional opening range breakout strategy. You may be familiar with the breakout trade - where you are framing the open (say 15 minutes) and you're going long when a breakout happens above it (and vice-versa). The theory being that there is quite a bit of noise during the open and after some time the true trend of the day starts to kick in. The traditional open range breakout trade is susceptible to getting stopped out so how do we tweak this to reduce the false breakouts. OK.

Hi...I have a breakout system on H1 chart. As you quite rightly stated the issue is with the wipsaw that occurred before the market actually takes a direction. Your video has provided me with great insight as to find additional filter on higher time frame such as daily chart. The keltner channel is a good one I have observed so far and also the price pattern on the daily chart will dictate the market direction on the lower time frame.

i thought about only trading this strategy on stocks in play with a larger pre-market gap (min. 3%) because there is a high chance for movement. did you ever backtest this on different stocks or are you trading this always on the same asset?
