Thanks for the excellent review! You guys make me smile.

I still have PTSD from thinking about walking down that ancient stone staircase. If snow or ice were involved, I'd just hunker down and wait for spring before I got up the guts to give it a go and then tumble down head over heels.

I have to give this movie a soft miss even though it was better than I expected. I have never been a fan of either of the leads, so the fact that I found them serviceable here counts as praise. One thing that I still find odd is that despite all the commercials for this movie in the prior few weeks, I had no idea until a few hours before it aired that it would be set in Budapest. The commercials never mentioned the city by name, and there were only a couple of easily missed subtle hints in the ads that Budapest was involved at all. Usually, "foreign destination" is a selling point.

I am NOT an Ashley or Marcus fan (or Britney Bristow for that matter). None of them can act well😬
This story was just meh. Was there any reason that a movie about golf had to be set in Budapest when the city wasn't an integral part of the story? OK, the tournament she was preparing for was in Budapest... but it could have been filmed in Arizona, Florida or California and still told the same bland story.
My big nitpick was the number of restaurants owned by characters in the story: her parents had a restaurant at the club house (which was closed), her best friend was a chef and owned a restaurant, AND Daniel's parents owned a restaurant. Really? Come on now, that's just lazy, unimaginative writing.
On the positive side, I will agree, Ashley's wardrobe was gorgeous - the palette was 🔥.

Cheers!

I was very unsure of this one from the start. We felt it was a slow film. The fact that it took 45 minutes for her to ask for help from Daniel was frustrating. We didn’t hate the film, but didn’t like it either. They did have good chemistry though and they looked great on screen together. I don’t think we’ll need to watch this one again. For us, it was a miss.

I’m laughing at the double I love you on the Bristow coat of arms! I was surprised Britney didn’t star in the movie when I saw all her behind the scenes credits. This was just an okay movie. I’m with Daniela, I needed something more cozy to ease the transition from Countdown to Christmas season. This was no Strudel Fest.

THE NEW HALLMARK MOVIES UNDER THE NEW CEO, SUCK. The beginning of the movie is triggering and weird. I stopped watching it.

Didn't hate it, didn't love it. I don't resent the time watching it, but I'm unlikely to watch it again.

Brittany Bristow (rival golfer, writer, and executive producer) had much better golf form than Ashley Newbrough did. They made an attempt to coach the leads, but Brittany clearly loves the game, which likely inspired her to do a golf movie.

I would have liked to see more of Budapest than we did; there wasn't a strong sense of the city or the culture. The countryside scenery was beautiful.
