14 Top Thrifting Tips! | Come Thrifting With Us

Hey friends! I'm recovering from a minor surgery this week, so I wasn't able to make a regular DIY video. However, a lot of you have been asking (for a long time!) for a video on thrift shopping! So here I am with one of my favourite people to go thrift shopping with - my Mum!

Just wanted to clarify that in my comments on getting larger dresses/clothes and resizing them to fit you, you can do the same in reverse (Getting smaller things and upsizing them to fit you too!) - most of my style pile videos are on upsizing things anyway ;) but thank you also to the people who made me re-think about taking cute plus-size clothing to resize! At the warehouses I go to the sheer volume of new clothes coming in quickly pushes out all the old stock and they *need* to get rid of the stuff they have, so I don't feel bad about taking clothes that aren't my size - but if you're a smallish size and going to smaller boutiques/chains then it's probably a good idea to think twice about taking plus-size clothing, because as many people have said, it's hard to find cute plus size clothing!

In the US, I like to go thrift shopping in richer areas because the clothing that is donated will usually be high end, good quality, and lightly worn because people buy things they don't need/like and donate them.

Another tip: have a budget in mind because it's VERY easy to get carried away only because things are cheap. If you get a lot of things you can end up spending a lot more than you expected
