The idea that more knowledge is going to make you worse is something children believe. Should my heart surgeon have stopped halfway through medical school because it was "killing his creativity"?

You right… one simply needs to understand harmony and key signature.. then their ear needs to be trained.. too much theory can ruin a potentially great musician
