Drafted by U.S. Attorney General Herbert Brownell, Jr., and vetted by Pres. Dwight D. Eisenhower, Operation Wetback arose at least partly in response to a portion of the American public that had become angry at the widespread corruption among employers of sharecroppers and growers along the Mexican border and at the Border Patrol’s inability to stem the influx of illegal workers.

The hatred and destain that the USA government has towards BROWN ppl, is the saddest, most abusive and humiliating history of a country. This was one of the cruelest things. Families lost parents, never to be found again. My aunt at 8 yrs old had a full blown anxiety attack, because it was getting dark and she was walking home from a neighbor and she thought they would grab her and take her, she wasn't the only child filled with fear. BROWN ppl, always the scape goat, we r tiered!! Now they wanna erase us. The government is behind this campaign, not one word in our defense. They have a bottomless barrel of hateful things towards BROWN ppl, especially Mexico and Méxicans, on both sides of the border. The bottom of that barrel is so low, we will never get under it.
