I am so happy the Ally is giving Steam Deck some serious competition. Valve has been refining the Steam Deck almost nonstop since it’s launch and I am sure they are taking notes from the success of their new competitors. Healthy rivalry means we the consumers all win down the line. I think Steam Deck 2.0 is going to be a monster!

Maybe an advice if you make side by side comparisons. Launch the games offline and you will be able to pay them side by side I think. Or put one device to sleep while the other is gaming

not sure how you got it to run so smooth on the rog ally even after changing graphics to 6g it still runs very badly

This is the best benchmark ever. Just eyeballing the fps average is gold.

ASUS should of invested in better controller hardware and put the micro sd card on the bottom of the device away from the exhaust.

the problem with performance is the distribution of tdp, 720p low on asus has really good frame

The low on the ally looks like high on the steamdeck simply cause of the better screen and native res

appreciate the whopping performance of ally but nada for the battery imagine playing that in 30-40mins while deck with cryo utilites 2.0 locked at 40hz and fixed 40fps can play 2hrs.. I mean im not a fan of having extra weight also bought handheled foe portability and it sucks to have it tethered on power bank just to compensate the draining battery.. Just IMO.. Its ur choice tho..

I own a steam deck. Instead of paying for a handheld console and getting 30 fps at high settings, I bought a laptop with an RTX 4070 and now I'm happy. Everyone has their own preference, but now I prefer 100 fps instead of 30-40 fps. Handheld consoles get boring after a while.

Steam Deck resolution was set to 640x400 and Rog Ally was set to 640x360 ! Only a 10% difference. I checked this because the Ally image seemed worse.

I prefer deck rog ally is just so clunky with windows OS deck OS is amazing and makes it feel like a full console not laptop with controls
