Wanted to give you a thank you. Just upgraded my sons 4 to the 8 I took out in my laptop. Didn’t want to blindly start peeling things off if I didn’t need to. He’s excited for the upgrade!

Great news everyone! Windows 11 is compatible with this laptop. I've been running it for a week now and love it. I had an issue the first time I updated it but turned out the update took longer than expected was all. Dropping a new video showing how to remove and re-install the ssd and remove the battery while trying to fix the windows update. Just be patient if your windows 11 update won't let your PC boot, even if it's 3 hours. It will eventually. 🙂

Just bought this computer new, March 2023, same model (from Walmart). It did NOT have an expansion for second RAM card. I bought 4gb RAM to do exactly as you have shown. Well that sucks, guess I need to buy single 8gb ram card, or return to Walmart. Funky they changed the motherboard configuration for same model except yours is two years old. Mine came with Windows 11 installed. Oh well. Thank you for the video, it was well done. (I got this el cheapo as a backup for my much better computer... ).

I used a old plastic card to separate the case as a screwdriver might scratch or chip or crack the case. I upgraded to 64 gig ram and a 1 tb ssd. After market ssd speed is so much faster then oem. Do not forget to create your recovery usb drive so if you need to replace the ssd you have all the drivers and os installs needed for the laptop.

I'm so glad that I found this! I definitely need to upgrade! Computer is definitely too slow with just only 4gb of ram.

As far as SSD or other memory upgrades, I don't know because I only needed to upgrade the RAM on this. Thanks and good luck!

My wife bought a DW1081wm for cheap. it's the same computer except it has a 500GB HDD drive. I swapped in a 1 TB SSD 2.5-inch SATA drive. and went to 16 GB of RAM. Updated the bio and upgraded to windows 11 as well. Upgrades aren't that difficult to perform on a laptop, the key is to remember to unplug the battery and eliminate static discharge, from yourself and the work area, near a motherboard. wait until you upgrade the drive and find out about how easy it is to clone it and save all your stuff onto the new drive.

I bought a scarlet 15-dw-0081wm for my wife in Dec 2021, and virtually unusable with windows 11 and the standard 4GB of RAM. Saw your video for RAM upgrade and ordered another 4GB stick, but noticed that this laptop only has 1 PCI slot for RAM. LOL. I just ordered an 8GB stick, will let you all know if it works.
