Fatest known way to farm Skill Points in Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice.

Start from the Ashina Outskirts - Stairway Idol (After it gets burnt down) and backstab all the enemies on the pathway.
For better results with more XP do the same method on higher NG+ if you are trying to max out all Skill Points for the Trophy / Achievement.

For anybody still farming, going to the gun fort Idol and running through, killing all enemies in the fort is really good too, puppeteer one of the shotgun cannon dudes to make it easier. Also divine abduction makes it a cake walk. On ng+2 I had about 7000/45 sec

I do the same run, except I kill the harder enemies on top of the roof. As well as the enemy below. Both are worth over 1300 skill points a piece.

You can also fight the little short ninjas in the room with a hold in it, above the castle Gates. I apologize for not knowing the names of the demons themselves, but hope my explanation can help some ppl.

This is also a good place to farm "Fuminated Mercury." But I have the "Virtuous Deeds" in the "Temple Arts" skill tree unlocked, as well as the "Bell Demon."

Probably the most noteworthy part of this run. Anyway, sorry for the long comment, but hope this helps at least one person and that'll do.

The Lone Shadow in the Antechamber is slightly quicker, but only because the sculpture is right next to him. Very redundant and it will drive you crazy, but I farmed my last 20 skill points there for that gold trophy within 2 hours

Guy on the tower, jump down, guy under the tower, backstab the guy at the gate, walk to the two dudes, lock on the sword guy, backstab him, kill the canoneerguy with like 4 or 5 hits(he cant block), no need to visceral him, hold square, jump up the gate, sprint jump-double jump to the sculpture, rest (if you sprint jump correctly, you dont need to use square to get up), rinse and repeat. No loading times from the homeward idol, no combat with deflects, by far the best farm in the game.

Earlier in game, theres's another really good farming loop. Like before the top of the Ashina Castle boss. Basically run all the way to the Sunken Valley, Gun Fort Idol. And beat the Long Arm Giraffe mini boss. Now that the room is cleared, there's a whole in the bottom of the floor that has a path that leads to two small caves filled with Geckos and such, both caves give you around 800xp total, but back up from the idol. Back outside, there's five dudes that are pretty close by that give you another 1100 or so XP.
Turning on the Demon Bell and doing the loop made it an easy way to farm Iron and Yellow and Black Gunpowder. Or possession balloons give the same effect. The loop once i got in the groove of it took like a 2 and a half minutes. Taking the guy at the top of the path out first with a stealth kill, it alerts the one sitting near him at the fire. Then going back down below to the cavern, then going up and stealth kill the other four dudes.
The one guy that was alerted will be at a new position, then the dude on the platform above. The dude on the stairs to the right of where you came from. And then the last dude is at the bottom of the stairs, look left and behind the corner when you walk out from the, the guy will be on your direct right facing away from you. And can be stealth killed as well

even with out NG+ this is a great farm for end game if you have nearly all the memory's and prayer beads and are just good at the game

Best spot I’ve found is the mibu Mano dogs they give around 425 xp each and there’s 13 of them plus a squid guy, can do it in around 45 seconds with the lazulite shuriken works out at like 7k xp (easy) per minute. The more efficient you get the better the xp

Start Ashina Castle, Upper Tower-Ashina Dojo Idol. Go downstairs stealth 1st purple guy. Run across the right side making sure to break the candlesticks hug the wall for a sneak attack as the enemy comes through the door. I skip the blue and purples fighting but you can pick up an extra 2k xp if you can take them quickly and reliably Jump down to the grapple point to line up a jump deathblow on a red samurai on the left (I know left works but right might work too) hug the wall and move as close to the door as possible when the other red turns his back backstab him. Run out the door opposite the dead reds backstab the red wall-hugging the corner then pass his corpse go out onto the bridge backstab the monk. Turn around and hang a left, travel from this idol back to the first.

The purple Lone Swordsman type enemy give 1052xp, The red Ministry Samurai are 1162xp, and the monk is 784xp. The whole route including Travel loading screen is about 1 minutes and 30 seconds (this time is not exact).

Grand total on 1st playthrough is about 6.3~6.4k EXP for a single run.

a good one i found is ashina upper tower antechamber idol ( ashina ablaze) -> backstab assassin (~1000 exp) -> down the middle onto the grapple point -> jump kill guy on the left side of door(~1100 exp) -> take care of other samurai (~1100 exp ) -> go out the back and stealth kill the red samurai (1100 exp) -> go the the bridge and stealth kill the monk ( ~700 exp) -> homeward idol back to start. On top of good exp it also gives quite a bit of gold and items.

If you haven'nt killed the 2nd ogre yet, at the endgame you can rest at the upertower atrrchamper and stealth kill the one handed man and then grable to the pillar above the ogre, then the ogre will kill two enemies. Then just use the small idol to rest and then repeat

you can use the small idol as soon as the ogre is freed
Also you can hold the collect button while resting
On my 5th playthrough I was geting 5k xp from the first enemy and over 9k from the ogre kills and it takes less than 1 min

In the Fountain Palace on the bridge next to the feeding grounds is one guy who gives you 1060 EXP per kill.. so it takes me a few secs to kill that guy, reload at the idol and then go again.. I think that's the best farming way for the first run through.. it's one guy who can be stealthly killed easy and then reload.. it's bout 2120 EXP per minute..

I feel like the sanctuary idol is probably better. On the first play thru it gives u 3k for defeating the 3 enemies and it's pretty easy. Will get even more of ng+

So the spot I found was an end game Ashina Dojo. I'm honestly surprised I haven't seen a video on it yet. But the purple cloaked shinobi guys drop 1053 and there's 4 of em up there. Puppet the first guy to help you. You can also get lucky sometimes and backstab the mini vilehand shinobi and puppet him. It takes about a minute and gets you around 4, 000 each run. You can even just keep back stabbing the first purple guy. 1053 exp like every 15-20 seconds

might have found a better spot at Antechamber idol. doing purification ending and only have the last boss left tho im not sure when this guy opens up.
purple coat guy just up the stairs from the idol awards 3.1k xp/kill. run takes roughly 11 seconds with reset (ng+2)

Just farm the initial 5 guys it's faster jump back to idol and rest repeat it's much more effective than doing the complete run
