2:50 those straps are to be used to hold several books. Like travellers notebook but pocket size version. 1 elastic going through 1 notebook's middle. Maybe a video on travellers notebook will help you visualise it. U can also add pouches through string. Its awesome.

1:51 that strap is for like holding cover open palm facing the cover. U slide your half palm through it. Like artist holding canvas while painting. Hand doubling as sturdy surface to write on securely.

The double straps on the inner spine remind me of a Travelers brand notebook cover. Very cool if you want to have more than one notebook in there at a time! Hope you enjoy!

6:11 that spine is the reason you can have 5 feild notes in it going through elastic strings. U wouldnt be able to put more than 1 notebook in old lochby cover. Also that spine allows pen to put inside, bulking space via cards, notebooks. Its actually a pro point.

P.S. Some of the comments already addressed this but yes, the elastic cords inside are to hold up to 4 pocket-sized notebooks so you're free to use the inner pockets for other flat items🤎

I love the goldenrod color 😍😍😍😍😍 I should get myself a blank Field Notes so I can use it as my sketchbook. It's a cool product but I have to agree with the size being a con, I like to put my notebook in my pocket.

The only negative with fieldnotes, is you have some bleed through if you use fountain pens

Unless I missed it you didn't mention what it is made from - is it canvas? Not leather, I guess, which for me is a positive. The material is quite important to mention. I think.

The elastics are in there to hold notebooks.

I remember being in boot camp in the Navy. 70% of my company were prescribed glasses. It was easy to see, since we were not allowed to wear glasses. Be careful how you strain your eyes reading tiny handwriting or reading too much in general. You can easily ruin your eyes and have to wear glasses. I suggest normal-sized notebooks and books. Learn from other peoples' mistakes. Take it from a 55 yr. old woman. I know what I speak of. When you read, have the right lighting, and don't ever strain your eyes.
