There is already a great virtual switch running on Edge. Easy to find on the SmartThings Community 👌🏻

I love your Lightning Rounds, Brian. All I can say is it must be "Turkey Season" in Canada because you had several in the video <grin>. Keep 'em coming as it's nice to hear what folks are doing to try to play catch-up.

Fluid One seems to have mainstreamed the room presence type setup. It could potentially be a great thing, though it still looks like a glorified remote control rather than a truly smart home. Will have to see what it ends up like.
I worry about the jungle site buying companies. They really screwed up Ring when they bought Ring with Ring Cameras being some of the worst I have experience with, especially at the price charged for them.

Love the lightning fast news :) But not sure I would give first one thumb up - another hub required...

Brian, I was asking about virtuals on new drivers and since then, I have been on smartthings forums and found TAustin's vEdge virtual device creator. It is pretty simple to use, and if you pick the contact sensor or momentary, then it is seen by Alexa too. Not sure if that's the one you're looking at as well, but letting you know it is working well.

Cool that you use the Belgian singer
Eddy Wally for the wow 🙂

I have the original Nest doorbell and love it, but it's probably time for an upgrade soon so I love that they're coming out with a new one. My biggest concern however is Google's continued fragmentation between the Nest app and the Google home app and the severely limited functionality within the Google home app. I'm very concerned that the new doorbell is going to only work in the Home app and that will be a deal breaker for me. I refuse to buy anymore Google camera products until that entire mess is sorted out and everything has full functionality within one app. In the last 6 months I have needed to add three more cameras and instead of buying the new mediocre google cameras that will only work in the home app, I bought Wyze cams...plus they are higher resolution and cheaper. The only thing keeping me with the Google doorbell is the great functionality in the Nest app and the video integration into all of my home hubs.

Are you creating a smartthings edge driver for the simulated Alexa switch?

That's exactly how I see automation, these projects that we have nowadays is a solution that doesn't can be called automation, it's a thing that try to be automation. Unfortunately that's what we have.
