The value of human life at that time was equivalent to that of a fly.

"Could raise only* 10000 cavalries, 40000 infantry and 125 elephants"

That's larger than most European armies at the time. Really comes to show how big India was.

I feel bad for the animator, having to add portraits and names for people that die 3 seconds after being introduced.

"Followed him to the throne and then to the grave" is probably your most subtle but brilliant line in this series.

Timur was a ruthless man. He constructed a death fort which is still present in Pakistan near to my home. It consist of a tunnel with sharp blades embeded to the walls. When a prisoner was made to pass through the tunnel, the sharp blades would crush his bones and the body pieces were to be collected at the other side of the tunnel.

I can literally listen to this narrator talk for hours. There's something about their voice that makes you want to listen.

Mallu Iqbal: "I will repel you, like my antecessors had done in the past!"

Timur: "You're aren't your ancestors... Neither I am the previous mongol leaders..."

On his way across the highway into northern India, Timur downloaded Blinkist and, reading up on history, realized that the Sultanate of Delhi were passionate reenactors of the late Western Roman Empire.

Knowing how this turned out for nomadic horsemen, Timur did his thing. He would be one of the few people to ever create unity between India's muslims and hindus, by forcing them to fight for their lives together. Truly inspiring.

Timur won the battle of Delhi because the Sultan made the rookie mistake of using elephants who, like in every battle since Ipsus, were afk for half the match and didn't get any kills. They then proceeded to yell at him over Skype.

Just as he was in the process of reenacting the Sack of Rome, Timur noticed that a guy named Bayezid had made a call-out post on Twitter and thus raced back to the Middle East in order to record the Diss Track that would end Bayezid's career.

Damn Timurs honor levels were in negative weren't they? At least OG Mongols used to spare those who surrendered.

The strategy of attacking the countryside to make refugees flood a city and starve it is actually genius, if not extremely brutal.

We are living in the most peacefull times compared to whole history. So things that happened in the past seems horrible to us. May be our grandkids would say the same for our life.
