I also have a particular love for the Abus 55 series of locks. An Abus 55/60 was the first lock I ever picked. I used two Bobby pins (hair grips). I bent them, using needle nose pliers. One into a tension wrench and the other into a medium hook. Since the Bobby pins were hard on my thumbs, as soon as I picked the Abus 55/60, I ordered a set of pics from Sparrows! They have remained my favorite locks to pic!

Cool. Ive been paying particular attention to a Papaiz CR40 recently, cracked it about...8-10 times in all. I have a couple of Abus's that I can't crack, but I'll get there. Like yourself, I started with an acrylic lock and some cheap picks, then started picking other stuff until a couple of the picks broke so I got a Sparrows Spirit set - not huge, but its enough for me at the moment. Cool stuff. :o)
