The pinned comment is wrong…. Delta was given permission to take off. The American flight was supposed to turn right and taxi down to the runway delta was departing from. They did not follow instructions and did not hold short of the runway and call ATC before crossing. When ATC saw them go across the departing runway (that they were not advised to cross) he told Delta to reject.

For those people who don't understand,
Delta 1943 was requesting takeoff when American 106 was Taxiing or possibly taking off they both were gonna crash so atc force them to make a stop and reject taking off due to this issue, the place is maybe John F Kennedy Airport

Honestly, we need to give ATC operators more credit their job is so stressful and along with pilots they save lives everyday.

I’m pretty sure I heard a pilot said “Oh shit!” When they made a very close call

For those who don’t understand why it was almost a disaster, in 1977, two Boeing 747s, one operated by Pan Am Flight 1736 and the other operated by KLM Flight 4805. KLM 4805 took off from the runway in dense fog while Pan Am Flight 4736 was still on the runway. Consequently, it resulted in miscommunication, causing the collision of both planes. There were 583 fatalities and 70 survivors (9 of them died because of injuries). There were no survivors in KLM Flight 4805 but 70 survivors in Pan Am Flight 4736. Hope that helped and may all the victims rest in peace 🕊️

Remember, pilots don’t work for the airline company, they work for the airport company

actually these operators are calmest in the world and if you hear a word like shit or any other depressing word danger is on you remember they are the calmest

The pilot did a amazing job as well. I showed this to my uncle who was a pilot nd he said stopping plane in such a short notice when it's about to take off is impressive

You know it’s bad when the pilot screams “SHIT!” On the radio

Hearing an ATC say " Shit!" Is like seeing a mangled dead body, then seeing a sign saying " YOUR NEXT." As you look behind you and see a dark figure.
