I have to say the guy came and offered my little girl a ball, and was super polite. He’s just living out what ever kid would want to. I don’t blame him for his actions. Doesn’t seem ill willed

I've worked at Coors Field and this specific usher is known to be very strict. He usually works the home plate area.

Went to many Rockies games in the late 2010’s. I found security to be pretty strict about moving sections, even if nobody was there. I wouldn’t say rude, but made the point clear.

As a SF Giants fan who lived in Denver for 20 years the security at Coors Field can be selective. I’ve had those great seats in the first row in left field dressed in my Giants gear and was asked 3 times during the game by security to show them my ticket. My friend who was with me wearing his Rockies gear was never asked to show his ticket and he wasn’t a season ticket holder so it’s not like the ushers recognized him. I wouldn’t go as far as Zack to say don’t go to Coors Field because it’s a cool stadium, the weather is great, the views of the Rocky Mountains is awesome and if your can get passed the wave being done at a baseball park I would put Coors Field on your bucket list. If the security is concerned about him ruining the fan experience for others look how many people line up to meet him and take selfies and grab an autograph. Watching his 2 Coors Field videos and being there myself often over 20 years I’d have to say he might be on to something.

I don’t get how people don’t like this guy. He gives away most of the balls.

I’m more troubled by his abnormally large collection of VHS tapes.

I’ve seen lots of people almost fight over balls hit into the stands, but never seen security say anything to any of them. Kind of seems like Zack is being targeted a little bit.

I'm a 66-year-old adult baseball fan who happens to enjoy Zack Hample's videos. While some of his numbers are padded because certain players toss up numerous balls only to him, that doesn't mean what he does is bad. What you failed to mention is when he caught A-Rod's 3, 000 hit, which happened to be a home run ball, he gave the ball to Alex in exchange for the Yankee's donating $150, 000 to a children's charity. You did mention that Zack gives some of the balls he catches to kids; Fact is, he gives ALL of them to kids except if the ball has a special logo on it or is an actual game homerun ball. Here is my take on the Coor's Field fiasco. Rules are good to have, but you CANNOT enforce special rules for one person and let other's not follow the same rules. THAT IS CALLED DISCRIMINATION! Had the Coor's Field security treated me like they did him, I would've been carried out kicking and screaming and then I would've sued their asses for discrimination. Lastly, and this is a knock on Zack - as an adult baseball fan, I would be pissed if I was standing in the outfield seats with my glove and in position to catch a HR ball or a foul ball and Hample swooped in to grab it in front of me. I think at that time I would be penalized for "pass interference" - he would go flying down the seats for several rows. Overall, Zack Hample seems to be a kind-hearted and generous baseball fan who loves what he does. I don't think there's one thing wrong with that. The players and YouTuber's who don't like him are jealous that he's more popular and famous than they are.

Zach Hample wouldn't reach over a kid to get a baseball. If he did than he would give the kid the ball. He is really nice.

This drama an L. I'm a Rockies fan and have been to many games. The security is always way too strict. Sometimes they don't even let u down in the LF seats for BP if u don't have a time let there. It's very strict. Zack also gives every ball he gets to kids unless it's a commemorative ball or a personal milestone. I met him earlier in Kansas City and he spent almost all of his time in BP signing and taking pictures. Wonderful guy can't understand people who hate on him without knowing a think or meeting him.

I get why people don’t like Zack. I think he’s entertaining, but I’ve also never attended a game with him in my section and I could see how he might be annoying.

I think the Rockies security looked like they were on a power trip, although we don’t really know the full context and whether they asked him more politely before. I’m sure they know who he is and probably were targeting him.

My guess is both parties were at least partly in the wrong.

Great guy. He makes entertaining videos and his collection is impressive but at times his means to get a ball at a game are questionable and he can come off as rude or childish. Dont think he deserves "hate" but the criticism of his attendance at a game only meant for military families is well deserved, thats way too far. He was begging people to get in.

In his defense the ice cream lady at Coors basically called me a dumb ass because i took my card out of the reader to early.

Zack is overall good for baseball. He contributes to a lot of kids enjoying their time in a stadium. Little kids flock to him for pictures and autographs. Let's be real here about him "stealing" a ball from a kid. Most kids are not going to catch a home run ball so that fact that he gives them to kids is awesome. Although i am not a kid Zack is actually the reason why i started watching and following baseball again. Watching his videos re-sparked the love of the game for me. He absolutely does more good for baseball then bad.

I've seen Rockies security like the guy Zach encountered. More often than not the people getting yelled at deserved to be told they couldn't do what they were doing, but at the same time security needs to be respectful to the fan unless they are being a giant a-hole. In all of the situations I've seen the people were either just dumb, or clueless.

Zack, is good for the game and should have full credentials regardless. MLB needs this because he's doing it right! Fan friendly, etc

I don’t like Zach Hample personally. He’s like a 45 year old man who basically steals baseballs from kids and gets rewarded to catch a ball like a little leaguer.

Honestly the security I’ve dealt with at doors field is super laid back. I’m pretty sure they knew who he was and that’s why the didn’t let him.

A rockies security guard helped me during a asthma attack to take my inhaler, I went on to enjoy the game and he even let me meet a few players. So the fan experience part is bs coors is a W.
