Iv traveled for tennis tournaments in some serous 110 degrees weather and played 3, 2 hour matches a day and have gotten heat exhaustion. I was also dehydrated, I had 3 vomit attacks where in each one, barfed at least 7 times, 1 hour apart from one another. I also experienced full body cramps after my matches which hurt so bad it feels like I got a Charlie horse in each leg, and this lasted for at least 10 minutes. I had neck cramps, in which I could not breath. Believe me guys, drink water!

thank you for some ideas! i'm going through heat exhaustion right now. kinda sucks having it, especially on the 4TH OF JULY! but the point is, if you have heat exhaustion, DRINK LOADS OF WATER and stay out of the sun or a while! a little rest will help too for the body to repair itself a little better.

Thanks for the advice. I've seen a few people fall at all-day, extremely hot car shows that take place on the pavement. Removing the hat...wouldn't have thought of that.

Grand Canyon National Park rangers carry spray bottles with water and a sheet of stiff plastic or closed cell foam to fan the patient AGGRESSIVELY. Repeat. Spray them. Fan them AGGRESSIVELY. Sometimes it is necessary to switch out on the fanning as rescuers will get tired and become less effective. Just like in CPR. The keys are getting them wet and staying with the AGGRESSIVE fanning.

should it also be brought up that there are parts of the body like around the neck, in simple terms or under the armpits to lower body temp, as long as the newb does it with simple items not ice, to lower the body temp, just an opinion from my medical experience, i know shock can occur using ice, but just cooler objects or a instant cold pack wrapped in cloth, applied around the neck( this is simple terms) or under the arms pits, your advice is good, just suggesting other methods, direct

Wait, so anyone who passes out in the heat just needs water and a cool rag on their head? What if they're having a heart attack? Perhaps Captain should have taught how to recognize heat exhaustion?

I have had Heat Exhaustion in Ocatio Wells in Ca.
I was riding my dirt bike and I returned to our vehicle and waited for 5 minutes then I went to the restroom for 10 minutes and vomited gatorade about 5 times.
Without these techniques i survied 30 minutes of heat Exhaustion

Water isnt enough when your sweating a lot, you NEED a drink with sugars salts and minerals such as gatorade/powerade etc. water only replaces water
