Souq Waqif is a must-visit tourist attraction, there are also pet shops in Souq Waqif which sell a variety of domestic pets, including dogs, cats, rabbits, turtles and multiple kinds of birds including the in demand African grey parrot called ‘casco’ due to its talking ability. The Bird souq, as it's called, also sells needed pet accessories.
Prices of different birds per head vary from QR50 going up depends on its breed.
Dogs and Cats prices ranging from QAR 4000 going up depends on its breed.
Some people visit Souq Waqif just to hear the chirping of birds.
