Bought a house in January 2020. I took forbearance April 2020 (decrease in pay due to covid). Mortgage was gonna be tight. Just finalized my loan modification. Got my payment reduced from $2, 700 to $2, 650; intrest went from 3.625% down to 3.375%. This is an FHA loan. No closing cost, no credit check, no fees due. Just added my 12 months missed to a new 30 year term. Glad I did it.

Nobody owns their home. If you have a mortgage, your bank owns your home. If you've paid off your mortgage or bought a home with cash but have to pay property taxes every year, like every American does, the county owns your home. Anytime somebody can take away your property if you don't pay them, they own your property.

Worked my ass off for years to afford a down payment on a house. Finally saved enough and prices spike. Saved some more, Covid hits and prices spike even more. Now I've been patiently waiting for something to correct the market and this shit, which completely stops any natural market correction, is announced. Feels like someone has the American dream on a fishing line and yanks at it every time I come close.
