Thank you for sharing. Make sure to check your macros too. I now eat 65 carbs, 18-20% protein and about 15% fat. I no longer follow/teach the low- fat low-protein approach especially if you’re active and work out. High-raw takes the best of both worlds in my opinion. And supplementation is crucial as a vegan.

I had that phase, I realized it was lack of protein. My solution to lack of protein, is to add a cooked lentil and mushroom mix meal ~ twice a week nothing more nothing less and I've never felt better

Excellent presentation. I've pretty much come to the same conclusions about food and diet. Intuitive, joyful, mindful, and enjoyable eating is way superior to food dogma, food cults, and overthinking mental gymnastics over what we're "supposed" to eat.

I also did long time of heavy fruit based and long juice fasts which we're detrimental to my health. Fruit is great, but only fruit or mostly fruit not so much!

Perfect! I feel that it's what must be done. I feel the same as well. In regards to fats, I do feel, too, we need more than 10% of our caloric intake. Omegas are super important. The fiber of a whole food plant based could difficult the absorption of fats, and be more taking than giving. I think it's one of the missing links of today. Besides that, our liver gets stronger over time, and can handle more fats than when following a low fat approach. Fats are only troublesome if oxidized, and combined with a high refined carb and low fiber diet. Thank you for sharing it. They are skinny and look weak indeed. We must change the path. Path leading

Thank you for sharing… the only thing to keep in mind few things.
The vagus nerve is the second brain and often our desires are microbiota and parasites have their desires too.
Comfort food when we are stressed or sad from childhood... maybe we wouldn't want bread either if it wasn't for the associated emotions that are imprinted in us. It's all very subtle and often our desires aren't even ours😉

That's all so true. I think the biggest problem is that all of these gurus, health coaches and internet nutritionists are so narrow-minded, they find a way of eating which works great for them and they try to sell it as an universal, one and only truth for everyone just because it worked for them, so there's no way it won't work for everybody, we just must have been doing that wrong...the truth is we are all one species but at the same time we are so ridiculously diverse that it's impossible to determine what the universal human food is. We all have to experiment and find our own way individually. A lot of people fall of this raw vegan/80/10/10 diet because in reality it maybe hard to sustain for many. I live in central Europe and I think a bowl of cooked organic millet is healthier, local and more affordable for me than a soup made out of mangoes and tomatoes imported out of different galaxy, raw but packed with all the heavy metals scientists could offer;]

I listened to the 80-10-10 audio book a few years ago and long before that I once ate an all raw fruit and vegetable diet and got very thin and felt like I was missing something.... I thought maybe it was cholesterol. So I started eating eggs.... which contain a lot things like iron, which I could have been low in. I haven't eaten meat in many years, and I mostly eat raw fruits and vegetables along with raw Walnuts and more recently Pecans and take a lot of supplements like Pea Protein in my smoothies. I also eat some soft-boiled eggs and some rice. I avoid wheat and most grains and most junk food. I agree that only raw fruits and vegetables isn't all that the body needs in most cases. A larger variety of healthy foods feeds your good gut bacteria which is critical for being healthy. I think the 80-10-10 diet is based on the outdated false theory that healthy fats are bad for you. I crave eating nuts, and I assume that it's because I am craving the fat, or just craving more calories, which is hard to get enough of from things like lettuce.

So what's the difference between a craving caused by a toxic body calling for more of the "drug, " and one brought on by the body going through a cleansing phase as it gets rid of the toxins causing the craving in the first place? Thanks.

Raw food only works for me if my calories come 50 to 70 % from fat. Cells broken up with blender. Just eating as is means less than 50 energy. Eating so less fat and calories as often recommended is not good for your health, only temporary to loose weight and/or detox.

We're starchivores, bro. We have all of the morphology and biology to eat high starch diets. Botanically classified fruits and vegetables (as opposed to culinary classifications) also fit into this diet because we would have naturally ate these things as well because we evolved from frugivores, but our niche was probably long treks looking for tubers and gathering grass seeds – think about how long it took us to domesticate corn and wheat, why would we do this if we didn't originally see grass seeds as important food sources? Also, Europeans have been in Europe for tens of thousands of years in one form or another (we have neanderthal genes which I'm counting here) do you think these very fleshy, and juicy fruits would have been available for even half of the year? I don't think so. You know what does keep over winter? Tubers and rhizomes and seeds.
