I tend to lose interest in a show when it is so long between seasons. However, I could never lose interest in Outlander, even if I do have to wait so long. Outlander is my exception to my own rule. I miss the days of shows airing in the fall, going through till spring, taking the summer off and then coming back in the fall again.

The drop in viewership is directly attributed to the length of time between seasons. Plus breaking season 7 in two is a big mistake.

Starz killed the Golden goose. Fans are furious and rightfully, the fans have been abused by Starz. Excessive time between seasons. Shorting fans in season 6 with the condescending comment..." we'll add more episodes to season 7"....then Starz screws the fans by splitting the season 7 in HALF and only airing 8 episodes! EXACTLY what pissed off all fans about the low episode count in season 6! And now Starz is considering cancelling the show BECAUSE OF LOW VIEWERSHIP!? I hate Starz

I think so far season 7 has felt rushed. They are loosing viewers because they are getting away from the original formula

I love the outlander show and I have enjoyed season 7, but waiting a whole year to see the next 8 episodes is too long. I wish the show would not end with season 8. But I will wait like all the other fans.

The time lapse is definitely an issue. Also the changing of who is showing it. The show is great, but people are cutting back and it's another cost. We pay for things and always get played.

I think biggest reason for drop in viewership is due to the huge length of time between seasons. Hard to keep momentum going when they are a year or more apart.

I plan to unsubscribe to Starz and hope to re-subscribe when Outlander comes back - or maybe after it’s all there so I can binge watch. There’s absolutely nothing else on Starz that appeals to me.

I was hoping for I book I season, but am looking forward to blood of my blood, I think more people watched when it was free on amazon prime and people didnt want to have another subscription just to watch Outlander, I hope we get more, like Msiure Raymond story and Rogers parents story.

I think the strike may have had something to do with it with this split season. But I think there is entirely too much time in between seasons.

Rating dropped? Maybe if there was consistency in where it is streamed we could actually watch. I also prefer to watch a few episodes in one sitting but that’s hard when companies like Binge remove the episode after a few weeks. I’ve now missed 2 episodes that have been removed and can’t find them to watch. I don’t want to watch out of sequence. This is really frustrating. It’s all over the place.
