How to spot fake Dior Sauvage perfume

- The weight of the lid is not identical.

- The magnetic push button, in the original it is one piece, the fake one is made of two pieces.

- Box is not identical.

- Bottle, the serial number is engraved on the original glass and corresponds to the serial number on the box, for the fake one, the code does not exist on the bottle only on the box.

I think one of the best design elements and attention to detail in Sauvage that the counterfeits are unlikely to replicate is the arrangement of the magnets in the cap and the bottle collar. When you put the cap on, they are designed to attract each other in a way that causes the logo on the cap align with the text on the front of the bottle. By twisting the cap 45 degrees, the same magnets are now arranged to repel each other and the cap helps lift itself off the bottle. The Sauvage pump is one of the best in my collection. Similar to Creed's pumps, it atomizes the finest and one pump dispenses a large fog of juice. Another sign of quality.

I totally believe that there are counterfeit colognes out there. However nothing in this video taught me, as a consumer oh, how to spot a counterfeit from a real one. It was just a pair of random hands moving a couple of boxes around and if there was a point to that like if one box was bigger than the other or darker than the other there should have been some voiceover telling me what to look for.

Simply look at the cap, the logo on the cap must be facing the front logo in the bottle, thanks to the magnet. Unlike the fake one that the cap can be rotating and doesn't have a specific place or direction. I hope you got it xd

I have a real one. Everything matches the same. The color, the numbers on the box and a bottle. Inside the cap is a fly, just like on the top of the box when opened 🙂. I mean for a price of €97 for 100ML it can't be fake. Nice video to spot this 👍

I just bought mine online. The box is similar to original except the lines on the sides are visible and not subtle. The bottle itself, it has bee logo on the inside of the cap. The CD on top of the spray also is not CD like the counterfeit. But the CD on the bottom of the bottle is not aligned with the writing in front of the bottle. In the video it's vertical, mine is horizontal.

What can make it tricky is that the authentic manufacturers are not perfectly consistent for many reasons, especially over time. Being a designer, certain details of quality and elegance are important to Dior like the fine/consistent etching on the bottom of the bottle, the fact that the text on the cap, front of the bottle and CD logo on the bottom of the bottle are all facing forward, the quality of the fonts, the glass seam on the top of the bottle being polished down, etc. Everything on mine (9D06, also a 2019 bottle like yours) checks out except the following; 3:43 The lid flap on mine is rounded like your fake, but has the press marks like your real, probably where the folding machine grasps it. 5:29 Once the insert is removed, the inside of my box is black like your fake and does not have those fine lines. That last one surprises me because it seems like a detail they would want to keep since it's consistent with the lines in the cap and outside of the box. I think they chose to cut cost there, because who removes the insert to inspect the inside of the box? Most people just throw it away upon opening it, but my batch was made before yours, so maybe they have different manufacturers.
