Jesus had to die on Good Friday, because there was simply no other way we could be saved.
Jesus didn’t come to this Earth to tell us to pull our socks up, to try harder, to do better, to be more religious, to put more effort into it.
Jesus came to this world to tell us that there is nothing we can do to make ourselves right in God’s sight.
I mean Jesus had to die not just because that’s the only way we could be saved, but because that is how much He loves us.
Because Jesus loves us, He had to die for us.
There was no other way ultimately, He could most express his love to us.
Which is why the awful events of that first Good Friday, it’s why we call them Good Friday.
It is though the death of Jesus that we can be saved, and it’s though the death of Jesus that we can be know that we truly are deeply loved by Him.

After studying it almost daily for about a year, I can say that I genuinely don't understand Christian doctrine.

I still understand how he died for us. Is it that he come to earth to teach us how to follow god and then by dying and rising from the dead he proved he could defeat death and so everyone realized he was the true son of god and that we should follow his teachings in order to enter gods holy kingdom?

I think rather it was God the Father who loved us that is why Jesus died. Jesus in fact prayed three times for him to not have to die. I know Jesus loves us, but it was Yahweh’s love that sent Jesus to the cross.

Are you out of your mind? God created us in all his perfections, then “we” screwed it all up by being human, then he killed one of his thousands of “sons” because that will be the only way his creation is worthy of not being tortured eternally?

Just a question. God is almighty, why didnt god just "lower" the bar of sins we have to defeat to get to him, so we have a chance to safe ourselves

Everyone says the same thing ‘he died so we can be saved’ yet it’s never explained, what are we saved from? We still sin whether or not we believe in him, so did he die for nothing? It’s a sincere question. Hoping someone could explain it without talking in generic circles such as ‘he loved us enough to sacrifice himself’. And if Jesus is part God, does that mean God died?

I learned that Jesus died on a Wednesday and rose on a Saturday Saturday is the original Sabbath day the Catholic church changed things to their liking like Easter and Christmas instead of Easter we should be celebrating Passover and as Christians we should be learning about the feasts days because they all point to Jesus
