I am from Jamaica and unlike other culture we love when other countries embrace our language and culture. Out of many one people, Jamaica to the world.

😶I can't speak for the Jamaicans but when I heard of this group I was excited thinking it would finally be some poc in kpop. Then I see the group and not a blasian or black person in sight but using a black image to promote themselves much like on tiktok when white influencers steal something form black or poc influencers. It's all on their social media of them in poc hairstyles locs, braids etc and headwraps and it wouldn't be that big of a deal if it didn't seem like they were trying to be black but with the name cocoa butter which is a predominantly black used item and some of the images they put out it's giving cosplay as a black person.

Everybody in the comments talking about how they’re so amazing yet they’ve culturally appropriated black and African culture in photo shoots already 💀 this proves y’all love our culture so much but hate our people because why is no one talking about it?
mezisin
I love how the people in the comments are just discovering the fact that Kpop is essentially Black music 😂😂😂😂

I don’t think a lot of the people in here see the problem with this debut group and it’s astonishing.

Wait till Jamaicans and other carribean islands and their diaspora see this. These entertainment companies really do study black people culture and language but don't like black people themselves. At least have a carribean flag 🇯🇲 choose an west African country 🇬🇭 flag too as they are doing their dances too. Why are they using Jamaican patois?
damnds
whoever at mld entertainment thought this was a good idea is going straight to hell

It was inspired by Jamaican culture, dancehall and stuff, they said it in an interview. Mi Deh Yah was a Jamaican word iirc.
People just think this is a random kpop group. These people has been around in dance scene more than a decade. Zsun I think went to Jamaica and learned the dance. She love the dance and culture, she teach it, I dont think being different race should stop you from doing that. Culture is meant to be shared. It's definitely niche and most people would callout issues. Unless they did something offensive like mockery of their culture.

I have no problem with this as a black person but the outfits were just kinda at least give them inspired clothes not mocking clothes. I'm glad they are trying to appreciate the culture but they could've done it a different way. I hope they will pursue this concept but in a more appreciated and respectful way. There's nothing wrong with being inspired by it but it's a big deal to not learn about it before doing it.

멤버들이 직접 녹음했나봐..멋있네 미데야가 무슨 뜻이지.
미친 쿤타다..

This is so weird.
Imitate black artists
Imitate their fashion and aesthetic
Imitate their dance
But for the love of god
Do not let them into our space
Do not let them eat where we eat
No foreigners allowed here
“ We love dance hall and r & b !“
But dark skin is ugly and does not match the aesthetic.
To be black in this world is so overwhelming.
chickengrease
The fact that no one in this comment section is saying that they are literally disrespectful

“Wa gwan” “mi deh yah”? Probably don’t even know one Jamaican person
