I've never seen anyone passive-aggressively eat a butter sandwich before and now my life is one step closer to fullness.

Max really needs to post a detailed recipe for the butter sandwich and apple.

I love how quick his mood changed towards the butter sandwich after one bite 😂

As a custodian that works in a high school, that depression meal is better than what they’re feeding the kids now

My grandfather's family served lard on bread with sugar, because they couldn't afford butter or jam during the depression.

I love the vibe of suppressed annoyance Max radiates in this short. A true professional if ever I saw one.

"I would actually make that again." This, sir, placed a smile on my face. Thank you for what you do.

My mom said during the Depression we always knew we had it better than many others because we had butter sandwiches and a lot of kids had lard or grease dripping ones

My grandma used to make me butter sugar sandwiches, it's just the butter sandwich with sugar sprinkled over the butter and it would be a side with some dinners or a snack after school it's amazing and I still make them when I'm having a low energy or kinda down day and I make them for my son's sometimes 😊

Me and my dad used to wake up in the middle of the night sometimes and eat butter sandwiches together. This unlocked a core memory. RIP daddy.

My great grandma saved bacon greese until the day she died because of the great depression, and my grandmother had serious food anxiety. It had an absolutely gigantic impact on society, i think people forget. Butter bread was one of my favorite snacks at my polish (other side of the family) grandparents house, which they went through a wild time as well.

Bread and butter sandwiches were a treat when I was little. My mom got the idea from her mom, who, naturally, grew up during the Depression. Such a simple pleasure.

Never underestimate the simple pleasure of bread and butter.
Seriously there's a reason why bread, butter, cheese, and milk are considered foods that one cannot live without. They're amazing.

My Grandmother said that before walking to school in the '20s, her mom gave all the kids a hot potato to place in their pockets for a winter walk. Hands were kept warm and the potato was eaten for breakfast.

My dad grew up poor, and they would have the butter sandwich, but they would sprinkle sugar on it.

My mom, a depression era baby, ate peanut butter and butter sandwiches (sometimes toasted) all her life. She passed in January and this brought back great memories.

This is the absolute peak of all content, I will never witness anything this good ever again and I have to live with that now.

This went on to become an East Coast favorite for kids, bread, butter and white sugar. My grandmother used to make these for me.

Absolutely phenomenal. The slightly surprised reaction of the butter sandwich being enjoyable is exactly why I wanted you to review it.
