POV: Linus is wearing a Santa hat and Halloween was just 2 days ago.
Edit: This was probably filmed before Halloween.

Something I'd like to see LTT do in a future video is identifying bottlenecks in budget rigs of staff/viewers so people with existing builds can have ideas on how to best spend money. This video definitely touched on that idea with having upgrade paths, but I think there's a market for more targeted purchase decisions.

Only linus can manage to advertise his store in a sponsored video

I love the premise of these episodes, since they give a pretty good idea where to aim for when starting to list your build. It's just sad every time to see how lower the prices are in the US and Canada compared to EU, lol. Cheapest, not really worth it 6900xt starts at 800€, and dont get me started on 30 series cards.

Wan show: Amazon is evil and Luke encourages people to not buy stuff on Amazon occasionally.
LTT: Thanks for sponsoring our holiday buyers guide.

R5 5600 + RX6600 can be found brand new for $350 combined before tax. This is hands down the best value combo for anyone looking for a lower-mid range build with new parts.

I advise everyone to buy used Gpus. Got a 3070 for 400 bucks and it's been amazing!

I'd love to see one of these for peripherals, if that's possible - that tends to be what I upgrade most at the holidays

Hi LMG, still waiting on that "Checking the quality of 2nd hand GPUs" video. I'm really itching to get a graphics card for my PC so that I can do solid VR gaming but too scared of going 2nd. Keep up the good work!

Earlier this year I built this for less than £1200
- R5 5600X
- MSI B550M Mortar Wifi
- 32GB (16x2) Corsair Vengence RGB PRO SL 3600mhz
- Corsair TX850W PSU
- MSI RX6700 XT
- WD BLUE PCI-E GEN3 M.2 SSD 2 TB
- Fractal Pop Silent Case

So Happy Graphics cards aren't stupidly priced anymore.

I had a old motherboard and 7700k laying around so I built my kid a computer for about $380
7700k
AMD 6600 GPU
16g DDR4 3200mhz
1tb Nvme
It's a very good 1080p gaming setup.

I recently bought 12400 and running iGPU until it I get a GPU. It is a beast! I run DeepCool AK400 (25£) and the max temp when stress testing was 58 degrees C. It stays at 28 degrees C when in normal use.

If any of you is gonna do the APU super saver build, my suggestion is just to buy a 2nd hand dell/lenovo/hp mini pc. They can be gotten for a great bargain since offices usually phase them out for the new models. Best price/performance in that price range imo

I've just been waiting on sales for my new build. Got a 750 watt seasonic titanium power supply for $130, got a ryzen 7700x (full price) with 32GB (2x16) of DDR5 RAM for free, got a samsung 2TB 980 pro nvme ssd for $200. Didn't plan on going for these high end parts but I've been planning this for months and have been looking for sales frequently.

Funny timing, my new PC is literally arriving today haha

Thank you for putting out guides like this, not everyone has the copious time/will to min max their build like I did =)

Ended up getting an 11600k build with 32gb of ram and a RX 6600, perfectly suitable to my 1080p needs.

Regarding that little 430 watt Thermaltake power supply for the $300 build, I've had one for a very long time in my old gaming PC that used a 1060 (which is now a media PC) and used three of them in systems I've built for family and friends. They're really solid budget PSUs.
