Let me just say this as a 30 year old woman who was a foster child and has lived on my own since the day after my high school graduation. While it’s a privilege to have help, it’s also ok to have and accept help especially from your parents. This idea that people in their early 20’s need to be self sufficient is wild. In many other countries people live at home until they are married. So, yay for doing it on your own but even if you have had or need help along the way, that’s nothing to be ashamed about. So many of my mistakes in my early 20’s came because I HAD no one but myself.

Putting money on the side for rent and utilities while at your parents is such great advice! I had been thinking of doing that and now I definitely will!

Just want to say too, if Hannah's parents were helping her out somewhat financially (which they are not), why would we have to be mad about it...? She's clearly an incredibly hard working person who doesn't take shit for granted, and I guarantee you she'd be really appreciative. I've legit never gotten the sense that she was bragging about anything.

it is absolutely wild to me as a brazilian to see that in the US taxes are not included in the actual price of things, that must be so confusing!! great video again, trust Queen Hannah Elise to always deliver 👑

$35/month for a gym membership in NYC is a bargain! I work at a YMCA in a tiny town in Wisconsin and it costs a little more than that for an individual monthly membership, so go Hannah.

the "daddy's money" comments always drives me crazy mostly cause i personally am really lucky to have parents that are able to help me with "necessity payments" at the moment like medical bills, school, or any car payments BUT that doesn't mean i've never worked before, or i don't understand the importance of money and budgeting, or i spend all my dad's/my own money on designer items or something like that. i understand it's a huge privilege that i am super grateful for, and i hope to do the same for my future children someday

this reminded me when i travelled to the states, i thought everything was so cheap until i went to check out because i did not realise that tax wasn’t included!! here in australia, you never have to pay more than the advertised price. it’s so crazy to see how we all live such different lives in different countries!

"I am trying to finish my apartment sometime this decade" is literally a mood. I have been in my apartment for almost a year, and I and my partner are still trying to get this place together. People don't realize how expensive and the work that needs to be put into it. P.s. I love your content and hope to be successful after graduation as you are.

As a much older woman than you, I must congratulate you on your journey and ability to have done this at your age! SAVE SAVE SAVE and continue to SAVE! I can look back and see that I could have saved SO MUCH MORE than I have and it makes me sick to think about it now honestly! You're doing a great job at this!

I don't know if you've done this or not but I personally would really benefit from seeing a budgeting video from you! I've watched you for years and I can tell that we think a lot alike. I struggle with visualizing the money I see in my bank accounts into categories and what I actually need to spend money on and you seem so good at it :) Sending love!!!

LOVE LOVE LOVE That you set up a separate bank account for your Rent, Internet Gas and Electric! and that you Do Not touch that account but for those things! and buying items in bulk is SO much more cost effective. You are kicking ass Hannah!

We love a self sufficient queen 👑, I also just moved out of my parents house and yeah the struggle of balancing when we can spend money and saving for rent can sometimes be a struggle but it feels good to know that you are able to do it.
