SEEK YE THE LORD – SATB - Oladapo Okunmuyide
'Seek ye the Lord' is an original sacred choral composition by Oladapo Okunmuyide for SATB and piano and the text is from Isaiah 55:6-7. With a flowing movement in the ABA form; moving from the home key of D major of the first section to F major of the second section, it then returns to the opening section. The ‘B’ section speaks more of the result of the steps/ actions of the first section (to receive pardon) in a new key. It has simple/ fluid melodic lines and some leaps to express the emotions of the music. This is a response to the scripture reading at the 2024 Easter vigil service.
This piece is part of the class assignment for my composition lessons at Eastern Illinois University and performed at the Composer's forum.
