Jack is so polite and thoughtful.  A clear testament to his up bringing.

Jack's smiles expresses it all: his joy from the working together, father and son, and the gifts giving by friends to complete a son's place of rest

I have enjoyed the treehouse series, I think the rope in the way is a good thing, because it will keep items or chairs from being placed on the door.

I would love more videos on setting up a shop! Great idea with the brake drum. I can't wait to see the ladder you build.

You know you're grounded and live in the real world when you use the term brained! Great looking out for the little ones, going to be an awesome hang out

Having done similar, an easy way to address your rope problem is to divert it. I used a section of copper pipe, with a 90deg elbow joint at each end, configured to look like a periscope. Fix the one end opposite the pulley wheel, the other lined up with the tie point on the trap door. Then wall fix the pipe with a couple of brackets, which allow the assembly to rotate a little. Thread the rope through and connect your weight and you are good to go.

To add distance to the travel of the weight you could cut about an inch or two off of the top and bottom edge of the disc and weld the pieces back on either inside where the rope attaches or on the face in the travel opening. It would give you extra clearance to allow the disc to travel so you may be able to get that flush to the wall look you were talking about..

I am sure Jack will remember that treehouse his entire life. It's great to be able to create lasting memories for your kids.

The counterweighted trap-door is brilliant - a touch of luxury

I think a shop series would be awesome! Also, you should revisit some of the projects from the older videos (as you are running through them for the W2 Channel) things like your water tower, or your splitting block, etc...

If you were to add a tornado slide or a firemen poll Jack would have the coolest tree house every.

Gosh if the safety sallies had seen the cabins/forts/tree house we built as kids. The neighbor had a farm & raised Chickens. He had a bunch of coops to hold the birds. After a while he build a big barn & move the chickens from the old coops into the new barn.

We would use old scrap lumber & reuse rust nails to rebuild these old treasures into what we wanted. Yet not a single child got hurt in these make shift dwellings.

Today the Safety Sally's would required a building inspector, with fire suppression, fire stairways, etc before allowing occupancy.

"getting brained in the head" I don't know why, but that made me laugh.
Good stuff, Cody. That smile on Jack's face says it all.
