Arcade1up XL - Any Reason To Still Buy Deluxe? Walk & Talk

I honestly started watching your channel with these walk and talks within the last few weeks, while I was shopping those July deals. I couldn't understand this particular concept of walk and talk.. But I definitely came around real quick, and when you talk your history and retrace your steps in your roots around the town. It is always a story worth telling. I wanted to thank you again, because you actually seem to care about value and letting us know. Quick question: What is your tolerance level on playing any game on arcade1up, how long have you played on one game, and sessions? I'm 40, having a little issues with endurance with my hands. It's been a long time since a joystick, for this newcomer to arcade1up.

If I knew with 100% certainty that 1Up was releasing XL only cabs moving forward then I’d buy XL only cabs. But will 1Up ever admit to rereleasing cabs as XL or newer cabs moving forward? 🤔

Pimping out the same pcbs into multiple form factors has become their go to move. Really tired tactic at this point. I hope they're investing in new pcbs behind the scenes to begin to release more demanding titles.

I likely won't be getting the XL version of the cabinets, mainly because they would look out of place, next to all the 3/4 scale ones. I've even moved the Legends Ultimate into a room of it's own, for that reason. Now, if I ever get a bit more space cleaned out in there, maybe I'll pick up the Pac-man XL, but for now, I'll just hold with what I have, and that's why I went with the Deluxe versions of Pac-man, and Class of 81. Kind of wish A1up had waited a couple of years before releasing the XL of Pac-man.

It's becoming increasingly frustrating to see a pattern where they continuously release disappointing cabinets, but with the games we genuinely desire. However, they take their sweet time or release multiple variations of the same underwhelming cabinet before finally listening to feedback and creating something that aligns with our expectations. Just when we think they've hit the mark, they hold out a little longer, only to release a new version with that one extra feature we've been asking for all along. And then they expect us to repurchase it, as if this whole cycle isn't getting tiresome. It's disheartening to constantly be led on, thinking we're getting what we truly want, only to receive something that falls short. It's clear that they're trying to keep us hooked and on the edge, knowing our love for arcade systems will drive us to keep purchasing until we finally obtain the perfect one we've been longing for.

It’s a sad state of affairs when cabinets from 2021 are considered outdated. Only in the arcade community does one fall for their marketing ploy. No one in their right mind is replacing their tv or cars after 2 years. Unless it’s a new license stop falling for their tactics. It’s the same games people

I’m happy with my deluxe MK2 and class of 81. Don’t think I would upgrade them at this point . Sold both my legacy cabinets to get the same in the Deluxe. I’d prefer a whole new cabinet over the re released old titles . Thanks for the awesome posts

I think Arcade1up is shooting themselves in the foot releasing the Pac-Man XL cabinet so soon after the Deluxe version. Why should anyone buy a Deluxe when they could get an XL for $100 more? Now they'll probably release XL versions of Mortal Kombat II and Class of '81 and I'll have to sell my Deluxe at a loss if I want to upgrade. Whoever's in charge of decision making at Arcade1up needs to be replaced.

Yeah, regarding the deluxe’s, prior to this video, I noticed deluxe cabinets were being sold on Wayfair. Very interesting that they are no longer Best Buy exclusive

Dude you made my night with this video! I've been depressed and not feeling too great. I don't want to dump negative on you, but I'm super stressed out man. Also I've got a stomach ache at the moment. Anyway I like the risers and can't really have any cabinets without them. As a Deluxe or XL will not work within my home space. lol

I HAD a plan to use my 20 percent discount at Target to pick up the Pac-Man that's out of the question with the release of the XL. Oh well. Just have to pick something else up that I want. Another great walk n talk!

Great video, man. I am especially excited about the pac XL because it isn’t just a bigger cab but it’s also going to just about as tall and hopefully also as wide as an original Pac cab. If memory serves, the old G pac is about 68 inches tall and 24 inches wide, so, with this XL edition, 1up seems to be truly bringing the arcade experience home with this one! Minus the depth, it should be very close in size to the original.

Hi Phil and Lucky. Arcade1up makes one step forward and two steps back. New XL Pacman is a great step forward, its what the cabinets need to be going forward, every title in this form factor with BOE's. Arcade1up should make a Skins Game XL, its a great Golf Game, An Incredible Technologies partnership for another XL that has Power Putt, Silver Strike, Target Toss Pro, these games are from 2008, they can be emulated on a newer RockChip, call it a Pro, it would be a great deal at 899.

Got my free Game Pack from Atgames for being LPO, Data East Pack 1, 27 Games for $25, thats the Model iiRcade should have used, alot of games for a great price, these totally screwed up, glad they went out of Biz, our iiRcades are now going to be GlenOcades!
