TASTE TEST: Do Wine Aerators Work?

Показать описание
Wine aerators are supposed to speed up the aeration of your wine, saving time and allowing your vino to bloom aromatically without having to decant or uncork your bottle hours prior to serving. But do these wine aerators make a difference?

I taste test the Vinturi aerator to see if this said 'magical' process actually works, and give my product review of this interesting little wine accessory.

I purchased a double aerator that works wonders at least on the first bottle of Tacana, 2019, Malbec I couldn't believe how much better the wine tasted than just poring it into a glass chilled first in the fridge and allowed to warm over a half hour or even a traditional decanter and this was the 11th bottle of 12, so I had plenty of time to know this wine before double aerating last night, I will never fail to aerate a red wine again it was truly a whole new flavor and taste, just amazing how much better the experience of drinking this wine was last night and today Thanksgiving I will definitely repeat this process for my Family coming over for Dinner !

I taste tested 3 different models. The cheapest worked the best!! Since I cannot afford expensive wines your observation about affordable wines is on point. It can make a 15 dollar wine drinkable and much much better than unaerated. When I open my Gevrey-Chambertin for my birthday I will let you know if it makes a difference on more expensive wines. I am getting my Coravin arriving today. It has an aerator that sprays the wine out 😊. We will see how it turns out.

Where do you stand on decanting?

Worth doing ahead of time or just stick to aerator for speed?
