LEGO® Bionicle 8626 Irnakk | Review

A Walmart exclusive set way back in 2006, Irnakk provided us with a special edition version of one of the Piraka combination models. The main draw of course are the exclusive gold pieces that give this set some extra pop. It's an interesting concept but do the exclusive (and now expensive) gold parts make this set worth purchasing? Find out in this video review!

I love this guy. The idea of a piraka/skakdi boogie man that this group of murderous psychopaths were deathly terrified of is amazing. I saw this set in Walmart as a kid and was so close to buying it but I never did. I regret that decision immensely

Too bad yours was missing two tubes that lets you hold the spheres under his head. I like the way it fills the torso up more and give it detail while at the same time help more on storage of the ammo compared to the separate piraka

"It was the nightmare of every member of Hakann's species — a legendary denizen of the darkness who lived to destroy. It was a creature of myth that had never existed ... but it lived here and now, and Hakann couldn't help but scream its name."

I like when the obscure sets get attention. Umbra, Irnak, Vikan, Nocturn and such

I DISTINCTLY remember my father taking me to Toys R Us Pacific Fair, Gold Coast as a small child and getting me this :) It was such an awesome moment for me and I’ll never forget it

What an absolute unit.
It's great to see a proper, modern review of the guy. He tends to be skipped a lot.

I know I'm probably the only one but what I've always loved about irnakk is his sunny summer vibe I get and I always imagine him in like a 1980s yoga outfit, like light blue pants and white

I remember buying this set as a kid at Toysrus but then returning him the next day to get Brutaka

I don't know what's more wild, the fact that you've been doing this for an entire year, or the fact that Bionicle lasted so long that there's enough sets to fill an entire year.

Considering the Barraki are all different builds, do you plan to do individual episodes for them, or all 6 in one episode?

This is the definition of a Walmart quality set

I didn't even know this set existed when I was a kid, one of the few Bionicle sets that I still don't own, and one of the fewer that I've never watched a review of, so this will definitely be interesting

I'm a total Piraka lover, but to be honest, the pearl gold Thok spine is pretty much the reason I wanted this set. I just wish they did this with all Piraka spines. Would love to see Zaktan's head in pearl gold.

Yeah, the Golden Boogieman is here! I have been looking forward to Irnakks review. He somehow managed to be one of my favorite sets, there is just something about him

Irnakk looks like someone's first attempt at drawing Brutaka

What a weird dude. Never had a burning desire to nab any of these store-exclusive "special edition" part overflow Titans (though I guess this is technically a combiner prepackage), even as a kid. But they are interesting to see built! You're doing a great service by reviewing them.

Along with Axonn and Umbra, this was the other of the three constraction-scale Bionicle sets from 2006 I didn't own. The inclusion of the gold spine and corrugated tubes is why this is not considered a combiner "set" like Takutanuva, Ultimate Dume, and Voporak are. Oddly enough in Korea, there were two other non-canon combiner models which were built like Irnakk, but either using Hakann, Zaktan and Avak (who could also be combined into the "Protodax" combiner) instead, or using Vezok's spine in place of the gold one. In spite of its unusual status, it still marks the final appearance of every piece in "Light stone grey" from Thok, and in sand blue from Vezok, as well as the Toa Metru hip and double socket joint in medium blue (Maya blue). This is the final appearance of the Piraka torso in "Warm Gold", but the Buzz Saw from Reidak also appears in a minifigure scale set (8624)-that was also a limited edition set that year.

I like this one way more than the last one the new mask makes for it a lot, really cool I wish he was just gold and black it would of made him so much better have him as a new set rather than a combo set

Never owned this bad boy, which is a shame. I only ever owned Reidak and Thok. If I gotten Vezok, I could've made the Korean counterpart that's practically identical to regular Irnakk, except it uses Vezok's spine/head and minus the extra gold tubes.

You also forgot to mention you can actually use the rest of the leftover Zamor spheres to fill up his torso. Another cool similar contraption like his right claw.
