The sad part about this video is you can see as the war drags on more and more of his allies die until he finds himself the only one still flying

this movie captured the essence, manfred was tired of the killing, but he had to do it, he grounded an allied plane and when he landed and approached the plane he asked the pilot and copilot "do you know who I am?" and they asked for an autograph

Fun Fact: With these old propeller planes the machine guns were firing through the propeller. And to avoid damaging the propeller the machine guns firing speed was tacted to the rotating speed of the propeller so that every bullet went through in between the rotating propeller blades.

He flew one of the most dangerous aircrafts in history, got shot in the head, landed the plane safely and continued to fly only a few months after. There is no word in the dictionary that can describe how awesome this man was.
