Same. I have been trying to fix my surface for 5 years. And now => It Works )))) !!! Thank you for video. WD40 on potentiometer solved the problem.

WD-40 Electrical Contact Cleaner would be better as it leaves no residue, but yes, perfect video and thanks for the great teardown!

(If you are in Canada you will have to find the Motomaster equivalent as they do not sell the contact cleaner in Canada)
