What locks do you recommend to bring my lock picking to the next level? The links below represent an greater degree of difficulty as the numbers increase with multiple options for each progression.



These are strictly padlocks with more variety as I begin to release the entire guide. Once you have successfully completed the No. 5 locks we will start moving into more unique locks that may be harder to come by but offer a significant increase in knowledge and skill progression.
****Note: This is truly for beginners and the next phase of difficulties include different pick sizes, lock types and everything in between.

I have been picking for about a year now. and my biggest issue is watching my tension.... its so EASY to over do it. I will be trying to get a lock and It wont go and I will all of a sudden notice I am just smashing down on the tension wrench. usually after that I will 9 times out of 10 get the lock open with in the next couple attempts. I just upgraded a few of my picks which is super exciting to get new picks lol

Yep, it's a really great community, that's why I'm still here after about 3 years now. ✌ That Master is too easy, even for me, I don't pick much but Masters are great training locks. Lol. I got lots of stuff to open on camera. :/

Problem here is your picking it upside (from the position that it would be if it were on a door). In my experience the pins fall and make it more difficult.

Yeah, I tried picking that exact same lock. It’s a really old one, but I could not get that thing open. I’m new to lock picking now so it’s probably just a skill issue.

I’ve just had to pick one that was locking a pull up bollard so quite difficult to do in situ however I raked it very quickly. I then raked it four or five more times on the bench with no problems. Next day I can’t replicate it!! Very frustrating.

Out of maybe literally 100 different 70 mm discus locks in existence this is probably the second or third worst lock made honestly with the Harbor Freight one sadly or the public storage lock being the absolute worst and the Brinks lock being only slightly better than those or this one but they all suck, go buy an Abus 20/70 discus lock or the Paclock Pro 1000 to actually get your money's worth and to have a decent 70 mm discus lock!

I cant get this lock after trying for ever and still dont know what i am doing wrong. Any tips? @LegalLockPicker
