Today, I make an unexpected trip up to the farm and we end up cutting about 25 acres of corn until we got snowed out!

Lights we will be using this spring

Hartung Family Farms is a farming operation out of Jackson and Clinton County Iowa, with our main farm located in Preston Iowa. We have around 2400 acres of corn, soybeans, alfalfa, rye, and oats as well as around 750 head of cattle. We have a wide range of International equipment from small tractors from the 1970s to newer large farm tractors!

Hey Ron kept meaning to ask you if you guys got the corn to feed better on the folding corn head. Remember you were having trouble with it. Another great video bud!! And I get your enthusiasm farming is fun most of the time!!

Ron, it must be difficult running all that red equipment, when you work for John Deere as an engineer ? You guy’s are knocking it out a little at a time . Do you know what your yields were in this video ? I know you mentioned that the moisture was pretty high, you mentioned that you guessed around 30% . May God help be safe in getting your harvest in, and give you better than expected yields !

We just finished up combining corn. I was plowing (disk ripping) from Wednesday morning all day/night through till Thursday 6am. It was getting to frozen up, frost was about 3-4" deep and had to quit plowing for the year unless we get a heat wave.

Hi Mate..🇦🇺
Great video, keep them coming...
Those folding corn heads are the best, will never go back to the conventional corn heads ever again...🌽🌽🌽

I saw the snow drifts still sitting out there! Crazy! We just started getting our snow today! On a side note, Erik's gopro did that audio thing too. I think he figured out it was a background noise option that had somehow gotten clicked..

I really like the corn header. that guy is good. I'm afraid I would have felt pushed to harvest all night with that snow coming. Could be the last chance even wet like it is. Probably why you quit because of plugged sieves.

I can't wait till the audio gets straightened out, it's a little tough watching the videos but definitely sticking around till the end.

Seems like your combine is undersized for a 12 row head, Is it?

AS LONG AS THE EARS ARE STILL STICKING UP THE CORN WILL STILL PICK UP MOISTER WHEN RAINS OR THE SNOW MELTS OFF IT THE WATER WILL RUN DOWN INSIDE THE SHUCKS AND COLLECT AROUND THE EARS
