'Forced to play with a right back' - no, he's an idiot for only selecting one unfit left back

Southgate didnt do anything, it was once again individual brilliance that saved his job

He’s been England’s best player this tournament and most consistent player since his debut. He’s going to go down as one of the best to play for the three lions.

Chilwell, Lewis Hall, Doughty, Mitchell, even colwill or Gomez that have all played LB before but gareth’s brilliant scheme was to bring an injury prone Shaw as his only left back

Muted euros? He provided service on both their group stage goals???

Its just occured to me, ETH basically missed Shaw /Martinez all year ao left side was lopsided with no ball progression. No one gave him any slack really but here we all are pointing out that Trippier is causing the problems for England not being left footed....

The worst bit about it is that Gareth had a choice of lots of left sided players but left them at home for Shaw 😂 played 45 mins out of a possible 465 so far madness.

Southgate could play Arsenal's lineup with Foden in the Odegaard position, Bellingham at Left 8, Rice at 6, and any winger on the left, 4-4-2 out of possession Kane - Foden up top and it would solve 90% of England's problems.

Reminded of Odegaard and Saka duo but we need more of that in the next game

Kane has become a problem. Slowed down every promising attack yesterday. I want to see Toney get a start.

Honestly this change felt obvious from the minute the left half space became over crowded

NEVER thought I’d see one of the Tifo OGs with a Colombian football shirt. Very much appreciated (even though I personally dislike Nacional)

After the second half substitution, pulling Bellingham back to centre to partner with Rice freed up space for the likes of Eze, Palmer, and Fidel to exploit. His rigidness in playing Bellingham in the 10” position was the fulcrum of England’s attacking issues

Finally an analysis that points out correctly what the actual main tactical switch was. Switching Foden and Bellingham so they could play more in their preferred spaces with Bellingham staying slightly more central then Foden.

I will say Luke Shaw looked good when he came on. I was very much against his inclusion in the team bc of his injury record but he’s looked good

What changed is that somroteka they actually passed it to him when he had only one marker on him.
Before this they had so many chances to pass to him .. but they wet like “pooo there is ONE marker near him… I’ll go back or sideways instead”

JUST GIVE HUM THE BALL and he can decide whether to attack or go back..

Don’t go back already when he is free to receive it!
