Ingredients:
2 pounds of beef (or any meat type)
2 tablespoon of brown sugar
1/2 cup of Worcestershire
1/2 cup of soy sauce
1 1/4 teaspoon of garlic powder
1 1/4 teaspoon of onion powder
2 1/2 teaspoon of ground black pepper
1 teaspoon Liquid mesquite smoke
1/4 tsp prague powder #1
Directions:
1. Cut meat into consistent strips about 1/4" thick
2. Mix all of the other ingredients thoroughly, put the mix with the meat inside of a sealed bag or plastic container with a lid. Let this marinate in the refrigerator for 4-24 hours...longer is better.
3. Pull the meat out and lay it out on racks without pieces touching.
Dehydrate/bake/smoke in your equipment of choice at 160-180F or until your desired texture is reached.
4. Once your desired texture is reached, let your jerky 'rest' until it reaches room temperature. At this point, it has reached its final texture and is ready for consumption and packaging.
5. Enjoy the heck out of it and tell everyone you know how Vans World helped you make jerky at home!
*tip - I suggest you use these recipes and processes as a baseline and make adjustments as you see fit to make the perfect jerky for you.

I’m an old school kind of guy so this old school kind of jerky would fit me fine. Another fine job sir. Have you ever dehydrated thin strips of salmon and made what they call salmon candy. Thanks for sharing. Tony.

Used coconut aminos instead of soya sauce and smoked paprika instead of mesquite. Plus some ginger in the bag with some acv for tang. Let’s see what happens.

Ohhh old fashioned jerky I buy from store is better then any homemade jerky. I've made homemade and had other ppls and nothing comes close to the maker of what I get. It's so goddamn good. It's called old trapper.made in Oregon. The shelves usually sold out but when its stocked I buy the big expensive bag. Lasts about a week. I've tried all other brands and 1 is kinda good. It's made in vermont near me.
