I think rather than duplicating gold or diamonds, it is better to duplicate expensive consumables like medical wild herbs, roots, spices. This way there will be less questions. Or just like that guy who first fount that pot, just duplicate tons of milk, or other simple foods.

"It's not cake" But it is! Cakes aren't all the sweet creamy ones you cut on your birthday. It's just like how chapati is also a bread. Chapati and sliced bread have similar ingredients and cake has a much wider range of food that classify as bread. Also there are varieties of idli and some of them, though a few, come pretty close to the more widely known incarnations of the cake.
