I am glad they handed it to Ubisoft Montreal, they built the OG and have massive experience. Also Ubisoft not ditching the project all together is an amazing take on Ubisoft's part. Hoping Warrior Within also gets a remake in the future.

Thanks for this clarification, I always blamed Ubisoft India for the fault of not making the game up to the mark, but now I got to know that HQ provided them with poor resources for the development. As a game dev myself, I can fully understand how much the design document matters in a game. Even the normal basic games have design docs like a binder and the 10 page doc is so much lesser. This is an example of how the poor decisions of a single team can destroy the whole franchise, especially one of those which proved to be game changing for Ubisoft.

Seriously at this point they should remaster the whole trilogy. If its taken this long and much of a hassle just to do one, id rather they took like another couple of years and do the whole trilogy, yeah it sucks but i think we deserve it at this point.

The sad fact is that the people working in the industry now just aren't as competent as previous generations of game developers, the people who made the original Splinter Cell, Assassin's Creed, Prince of Persia etc, simply don't work there anymore. Most people in the industry now, aren't there because of any real passion and a lot of them aren't even there based on merit.

Poor devs getting forced to use bad tools just for their work to be scrapped and recycled again and again. Sadly happens way too much in today's games industry.

from what I saw in some reports and content creators about games and their companies (of course many fans complained about the trailer), they say that someone from ubisoft (like a supervisor) went to the mumbai studio to see how the game was and then took it the game back to Ubisoft Montreal. (Ubisoft Montreal who was the creator of the game)
In a note to the public, ubisoft said that ubisoft montreal will lead the production of the sand of time remake. (for this to occur, something wrong was happening in the mumbai studio)

The interesting thing is that many content creators are not answering questions about it or talking about, I asked some who are making videos about the assassin's creed and they didn't speak up.
assassins creed came or emerged from prince of persia as a spinoff ( AC has now become giant). It's interesting that no one is commenting

I wish the remake would just use Warrior Within's combat. WW's combat is one of the best in a action game imo.

As long as it offers a safety net for more upcoming prince of persia titles or remakes, they can take as much time as they need. This masterpiece of a game is something they CANNOT afford to fuck up. It is the father of Assassin's Creed, the game that possibly made Ubisoft what they are today. This game deserves respect.

What we can take from this is not to expect Ubisoft to do a good job on anything.
