The 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona and 2024 Dodge Daytona Sixpack have been officially unveiled. One is a powerful 670HP electric "muscle car" with all wheel drive, and the other with the Hurricane turbocharged inline 6 cylinder. Under a lot of pressure Dodge claims that they were no longer able to make V8 Dodge Challengers or Chargers anymore - so they had to come up with a different solution. With the Hellcat engine now officially gone and off the market for good, how will this effect the muscle car market? Let's talk about it.

That exhaust simulation will be the perfect start to my day after I wake up in my pod that I don't own, finish my breakfast of bugs, and check my social credit score to make sure I am authorized to access public space that day.

I don’t know about those in the comment section, but I’ve never heard a person say, “the exhaust note in that 6-cylinder is BAD ASS - especially in a muscle car.”

i can't believe they deleted the v8. that was the only redeeming quality for dodge. there was no other.

I never thought we would see the day where the Charger actually becomes a Charger 😭

The order to drop V8 did not come from Dodge, it came from Stellantis.

if i remember correctly from the last time i worked on a brand new grand wagoneer, there is legitimately no dipstick. no way to check the oil level, without running the car until it’s warm, then letting it sit with the battery on for 10 minutes. and they are notorious in our shop for throwing low oil level lights for no reason, then being extremely picky about clearing the light. i’m personally genuinely disinterested in anything involving that kind of “innovation.” to be honest though, i’m disinterested with every dodge after working on them.

Ford Mustang V8 sales will double. Well done Stellantis. John and Horace are not impressed.

I like the inline 6 but a muscle car should have a V8 engine. I'm just waiting for the inevitable Hemi swap

Its an obsurd 5800 lbs
That's insane No car should be that heavy. It will feel like a tank in corners. That's nearly 2000 lbs heavier than a 2024 Mustang GT.

If they went back in time to show this to the dodge brothers, they’d follow him back to the present to save their company’s reputation and namesake.
