On Saturday, January 10th, 2015, the United States Wushu Academy Demo Team performed taichi fan in Rockville, Maryland, at the F. Scott Fitzgerald Theater for the Chinese New Year Gala Performance hosted by the Beijing Chinese Association.

About USWA: Located in the DC Metropolitan Area, Masters Christopher Pei and Zhang Guifeng founded the Academy in 1988 with the intention of promoting Chinese culture via Wushu and Taiji. Since then, Masters Pei and Zhang have transformed hundreds of lives through physical, mental, and spiritual transformation.

Master Christopher Pei trained with both Shandong and Beijing Wushu Teams, and learned from the Chen-style, Yang-style, and Wu-style taichi Grandmasters. Master Pei is currently the Vice Chairman for China Martial Arts in the Amateur Athletic Union; President of the U.S. Wu Style Taijiquan Association; President of the U.S. Chen Style Taijiquan Association; and a Board of Director for the International Contact Weapons Sports Federation.

Master Guifeng Zhang was a member of the professional Beijing Wushu Team and China National Team during the 1970's. During her time on the China National Team, Master Zhang was considered one of the best female wushu athlete in the world. Currently, Master Zhang has trained and led at least ten students to represent USA at the International World Wushu Championships and Pan-American Wushu Games.
