Hi guys so I wanted a little perspective if possible. I am 13 weeks pregnant with twins. At the 12-week NT ultrasound they saw that baby B had thick lining behind her neck. We got the nipt blood work done and my doctor said it's 88% chance that one of the babies will have Down syndrome, presumably baby b. However we don't know which one. My doctors are advising that I get an amniocentesis for each baby and I'm so scared and nervous and unsure. They have also talked to me about termination of pregnancy and potentially trying again with IVF. I am 38 years old and I don't know that I can take this emotionally or physically again. I also want to try to keep as positive as possible and I'm just not sure what to do.

People with Down's are the happiest people alive. They live in the moment, are so loving and affectionate. You are very lucky to have been chosen to have this human in your lives. She is adorable❤❤

My grand daughter has down syndrome. After she was born I cried for days, not for me but my daughter because she is a single mother and I didn't know if she could give this baby what she needed. But she has surprised me and has done much better than I thought! She has been so strong ( much stronger than I was). This precious precious baby has awoken so many things in me that I didn't know I had! Lilyana is the best thing that could have happened to our family! I know I shouldn't have favorites but I think I have a little more love for her because of all the joy that she has given to all of us she made us realize that you can tackle anything that life has to give!!

I am expecting a baby in a few weeks who has screened positive for DS. I know that I have not fully accepted it emotionally, even though I know, in my head, that it’s happening.
I am scared and sad.
I am scared for his future. I am scared that there is something wrong that the doctors can’t see and that we will lose him. I am scared to tell people that he has Down Syndrome because people are unkind.
And I am sad that I feel all of these fears.
I hope I can do this. I’m so glad I found your video tonight, because I needed to hear how blessed we really are.

Thank you for posting this.

Thank you so much. I had our son at 39. I wasn't afraid of DS. I was raised with a family that volunteered with people with disabilities etc and so I knew... and I know your family truly IS blessed. Not just by God or Naomi but because of having YOU as a mommy.

My son was born with the "normal" number of finger and toes and chromosomes but had he not, I only hope I would have handled it with such grace.

I love you

My sister's down syndrome also went undetected during my mom's ultrasounds. Even when she was born, noone from the hospital addressed that she had downs. My parents kept wondering how she looked different features wise. However, we got to know about her condition after 15 days when she had some issues and we rushed her to the hospital. In india, back in 1995 down syndrome wasn't really heard of and we didn't have access to the internet to learn so much. My sister is the cutest thing in the world . I love her alot and she is one disciplined and adorable kid. I am happy to see you raise your daughter so well . God bless you guys !!

I just stumbled across this video somehow and I am so happy. My son is 5 months old and he has down syndrome as well as a life-limiting heart defect. He already had one surgery and will require at least one more this year. The love a momma feels for her child with special needs is unlike any other love in this world. I love my typically developing daughter so crazy much but the love I feel for my son with down syndrome is different. It's hard to explain but if you get lucky enough to have a baby with special needs you'll understand. Thanks for sharing your sweet baby girl. It's so important.

A lot of people who don’t have a special needs child don’t realise how blessed we are. My son has special needs too. He doesn’t have DS but his needs are complicated. Don’t feel sorry for us people. Our children are happy.
